About Project Icarus:
A Balloonsat
There are four members of our team. Brian Y is the Balloon lead, Dakota U is our Payload lead, Miguel F is our Data lead, and Hunter E is our tracking and recovery lead.

Our mission is to test the UV light radiation potential of space by sending fluorite/minerals into the stratosphere and record if the UV radiation is strong enough to light up the mineral. We will be visually inspecting this as well as measuring the entire flight with a UV spectrometer. We will get a base level reading on a regular day here in Denver and compare this to upper atmospheric levels of UV.

Our Launch date is set for Saturday, April 10th at about 0600 launch time. (Weather permitting) Launch sites are TBD as well.
Stay tuned for the most current progression with designing, building, launch, recovery, and data retrieval of our satellite.
